Manchester Central CID secure charges

A man has been charged following a number of incidents on and around Mancunian Way, Manchester.

Stuart Thomson (15/03/90) of Buxton Road, Stockport has been charged with three counts of rape, one count of assault and four counts of threats with a bladed article.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Stockport Magistrates Court today (7 February 2024).

At around 3am on Wednesday 31 January 2024, officers were initially called to a report of a rape on Mancunian Way, Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police were contacted throughout the day about three further incidents that happened in the same area around the same time.

The victims are currently receiving specialist care and support.
