In the early hours of the morning (Sunday 4 February), Greater Manchester Police were alerted to reports of a burglary at a business on Burnley Lane, Oldham.
Police responded immediately and following a short pursuit on foot, the suspect was arrested nearby on suspicion of burglary. A 23-year-old man remains in police custody for questioning.
Sergeant Armitage from GMP Oldham division said: “This arrest is the result of the quick-thinking of officers at the scene, and great collaborative work to track down the suspect.
“We are committed to making sure people feel safe in their homes, and ensuring business owners can feel confident that their premises are safe when unoccupied. GMP continues to use all resources available to tackle burglary offences, whilst dedicated teams conduct regular patrols and proactive operations which focus on preventing and reducing this type of crime.”
