Yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 30 January 2024) at around 4:00pm, officers were called to a serious collision on Blackburn Road in Egerton.
Investigating officers established that a motorcyclist travelling northbound along Blackburn Road attempted to overtake a vehicle and mounted the easterly footpath before colliding with a drystone wall.
Sadly, a 51-year-old man, the rider of the motorcycle, died at the scene.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident - or may have dashcam, CCTV or mobile footage from the area at the time of the incident - to please share it with officers to assist their enquiries.
