On Saturday 20 January 2024, at around 5pm, officers were called to reports of a collision involving two males riding a motorcycle.
A 27-year-old male suffered serious injuries as a result of the incident and despite the efforts of medical professionals, man passed away the following day as a result of his injuries.
A 16-year-old male thankfully only suffered minor injuries.
Initial enquiries suggest that around 5pm that evening, the two males were on the motorbike when it collided with a fence post on a path off Hall Lane in Aspull, Wigan.
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
