In the early hours of the morning (Tuesday 9 January), four warrants were executed at addresses across Stockport and Greater Manchester, as part of ongoing work to tackle organised crime in the district.
Stockport’s Challenger team made four arrests this morning.
They all remain in police custody for questioning.
Following a search of the addresses, police also recovered around £40k cash, large quantities of white powder believed to be cocaine, vacuum packed cannabis, over 30,000 nitrous oxide cannisters, six Brietling watches, and two Rolex watches.
DS Lee Attenborough from GMP Stockport Challenger team said: “These arrests are part of the proactive work we do across Stockport to ensure we tackle drug dealing in our communities and target the associated criminality and vulnerability that goes hand in hand with the drugs trade.
“The team have seized a significant amount of drugs this morning which would have undoubtedly caused serious harm in our community had the product made its way onto our streets.
“With the support of our community, and collaborative efforts from across GMP and the local authority, our organised crime team are relentless in pursuing those involved in drug dealing and serious crime across Manchester, and I would ask anyone who has information about this kind of activity comes forward so action can be taken.”
Kate Green, Deputy Mayor for Police, Crime, Fire and Criminal Justice, said: “This work represents the very best of partnership working to protect vulnerable people and bring down serious and organised crime that drugs are so closely linked to.
“This issue is not unique to Greater Manchester but what is different here is how we’re taking such a proactive partnership approach to dealing with this. We are committed to disrupting this and bringing people to justice. I hope people are reassured by the dedicated team we have working on this and the clear results we are achieving.”
