Following initial enquiries, our officers are now appealing for details to assist in an ongoing investigation around a serious assault on Walmer Street East and Wilmslow Road in central Manchester.
Just after midnight on Monday 29 July 2024, reports came in of a serious assault. A 32-year-old man remains in a critical life-threatening condition following treatment.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Detective Inspector Natalie McDonald from our Central division said; “We are still in our early stages but want to appeal to people who were in the vicinity of the busy area last night to help us in our enquiries.
“A man is currently still receiving treatment for serious injuries following an assault and we want to see if any outstanding footage can be obtained, whether CCTV or doorbell or dashcam.
“Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with us direct on 0161 856 4305 or 101 quoting incident 72 of 29/07/2024.”
