A man has been charged following reports of a serious sexual assault in Hyde on the morning of 5 July.
Brandon Smith (14/02/00), of Larch Road, Denton, has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
He has been remanded in custody and will be appearing at Tameside Magistrates Court tomorrow (11 July 2024).
Detective Inspector Christopher Dean, from GMP’s Tameside district, said: “All reports of incidents such as this are taken with the utmost seriousness by officers and I hope this charge demonstrates the urgency with which we’ve worked to secure an outcome.
“I would like to thank members of the public for their support and the victim for her bravery as we continue to support her throughout this investigation.”
