Officers from our Central Manchester division are appealing for information after a report of a robbery on the city centre on Saturday 25 May 2024.
It has been established that two individuals approached the victim at Market Street Tram stop at around 1am in the morning.
One of the suspects has distracted the victim whilst the other suspect has taken the victim’s mobile phone and left the area.
Later that day, the suspects have managed to gain entry to the victim’s Apple ID and gaining access to his wallet within the phone before allegedly going on to spend around £4,000 in the Arndale Centre.
Officers have now released a picture of two men they would like to talk to, as it is believed they may be able to help with their enquiries.
It is believed that these men might have links to Nottingham.
Officers would like to speak with these two men who they believe can assist them with their investigation.
PC Holden said: “We have explored all lines of enquiry and we are now appealing to the public who may be able to help up with our investigation.
“We understand this type of crime results in unwanted stress and anxiety and are committed on tackling theft and robbery proactively to ensure our city centre remains safe and to prevent any repeat offences.
“We have been working closely with the victim in this case and have kept them updated throughout.”
