Officers from our Bury district are appealing for any information as they continue to investigate an arson attack on a property on Scholes Lane in Prestwich at 11.45pm on Sunday 30 June 2024.
We were called at 12.05am to reports of a man who had allegedly attempted to set fire to a garden shed with a blowtorch an hour earlier.
The shed, which sits just three feet away from the main property, thankfully, did not catch light before the suspect fled from the area.
There were no injuries reported and no arrests have been made at this stage.
Our officers would like to speak the man pictured as we believe that he could assist us with our enquiries.
PC Neil Cheslett from our Bury district said: “This is a really disturbing incident where a property has been targeted on more than one occasion with the latest being a suspected arson attack.
"Six adults and three children were present in the address when this attack took place. The consequences could have been dreadful.
“We have been working hard to try and identify the suspect, and we are now appealing to the public for their assistance in this case.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 8204 quoting crime number CRI/06NN/0010736/24.
