Officers are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Manchester.
At around 10pm last night (22 June 2024), officers received a report that a man on a pedal bike had been hit by a car on the junction of Brownley Road and Hollyhedge Road in Wythenshawe. The vehicle, which had veered across traffic, subsequently made off.
It is believed that shortly before the incident, there was an altercation between the man, and two vehicles believed to be a White Seat Arona and dark-coloured VW Golf.
The man remains in hospital with serious injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers are currently working to investigate the sequence of events and enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police via 101, gmp.police.uk, or 0161 856 6051, quoting log 3491 of 22/06/24.
In particular, officers are keen for anyone with any CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage to please get in touch.
Detective Inspector John Robb, from GMP’s Manchester district, said: “This is an awful incident which has seen a man seriously injured - thankfully the injuries are not life-threatening, but things could very easily have been much worse.
“We are currently looking into all lines of enquiry and extensive work is ongoing to ensure that we find those responsible for this act. I urge anyone who witnessed any of last night’s events or saw anything suspicious to please get in touch.
“You can contact us via the regular channels – 101, or on our site – or by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
