Detectives have charged a man from Hyde with attempt murder

Adrian Smith (17/07/1996) of no fixed abode has been charged with attempt murder.

He has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester Crown Court on Monday 1 July 2024.

This charge is a result of an investigation from earlier this weekend when at around 11pm on Friday 28 June 2024, our officers were called to Grosvenor Road in Hyde due to the concern for the welfare of a woman.

After they attended and were later taking witness accounts, another woman was stabbed inside the property. Following treatment, she is thankfully now in a stable condition but with injuries believed to be life changing.

Following previous police contact, in-line with normal procedure, the matter has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
