At around 4am this morning (Saturday 29 June 2024) our officers were alerted to a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle on the M60, Junction 22 anti-clockwise exit slip road.
It transpired an Audi A3 car was travelling in the direction of Hollinwood Interchange in Oldham before colliding with traffic lights and coming to a stop on the slip road.
Six people were found inside with two currently receiving treatment for what is believed to be serious injuries.
Road closures remained in place this morning whilst officers conducted further enquiries.
Detective Constable Rachael Stafford from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit said; “Since the early hours of this morning we have been investigating this incident to understand fully what has happened that has left two people in currently a serious condition.
“We are interested in speaking to anyone who witnessed the collision or the vehicle in the lead up to this incident, especially if dashcam or CCTV footage from properties is available and were recording at the time to help with our investigation.
