On Thursday 27 June, at around 2:40pm, we were called to reports that a 16-year-old boy had been stabbed in leg at the junction of Spring Lane and Butterworth Street.
Thankfully his injuries are not life changing or life threatening.
We have today (Friday 28 June) arrested two teenage boys, aged 14 and 16, on suspicion of wounding with intent.
Police are following several lines of enquiry but are keen to speak to anyone who may have information, or any CCTV or mobile phone footage.
We’re also aware that members of the public bravely intervened during the attack. If that was you, please get in touch with us.
