Officers from Greater Manchester Police's Transport Unit are appealing for information following reports of a sexual assault on a tram travelling on the Ashton-Under-Lyne bound service on Saturday 18 May.
At around 9.30pm, a female passenger was assaulted by a man while travelling on the service. It is believed the man may have alighted at the Metrolink tram stop at the Etihad stadium, and may be local to the North Manchester area.
Officers have now released a picture of a man they would like to talk to, as it is believed he may be able to help with their enquiries.
Investigators are additionally hoping to locate two men who came to the aid of the woman following the incident, and have asked them to get in touch.
