Jordan Taylor (10/06/1993) of St Brelades Drive, Salford was sentenced to 20 years in prison at Bolton Crown Court on Friday 22 March 2024 for two counts of rape and assault of a woman in Stockport.
He has also been given an indefinite restraining order against the victim.
The court heard how in the early of hours of Friday 18 August 2023, Greater Manchester Police received a 999 call from a distressed woman pleading with officers to attend her home address as she was bleeding and fearing for her life.
Upon arrival to the victim’s address, officers find the woman with severe swelling around her eyes and forehead, blood on her nose, hands and legs. It was later confirmed that the victim had sustained a fractured left-eye socket, fractured nasal bone and a hairline fracture to one of her fingers.
It was believed that the victim had been assaulted in the living room after being raped in the bedroom upstairs.
The victim told officers how she met Mr Taylor outside Wythenshawe Hospital the previous evening and ended up going back to her address, and when she asked him to leave, he became aggressive.
Taylor was arrested on suspicion of rape and Section 18 assault at 5am on Friday 18 August 2023, just hours after the incident occurred, with Taylor denying the assault and claiming that intercourse he had with the victim was consensual.

A few days later, following further enquiries and a GMP being in receipt of a voicemail in which officers could hear Taylor giving the victim orders while she is audibly crying and asking him to ‘stop it’ and ‘calm down’, he was charged with two counts of rape and Section 18 assault and remanded into custody.
Detective Constable Maisie Gilman of Stockport’s CID said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the victim for her bravery throughout this investigation and for having the courage to report this information.
“Jordan Taylor showed absolutely no remorse for his actions, denying both the rape and the assault to officers when he was first arrested and then under caution when he was being interviewed.
“I hope today’s sentencing can act as some sort of closure to the victim and her family. It remains a priority as a force to tackle violence against women and girls robustly to ensure they are safe in our communities, and I would urge any victims to contact the police in the first instance as soon as possible so we can provide the appropriate support.”
