Officers appeal for information following fatal collision in Oldham

Investigators are appealing for more information following a fatal collision in Oldham last week.

Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are looking for additional information following a fatal collision that happened on Huddersfield Road in Oldham at around 3:30pm on Friday 15 March 2024.

Sadly, a pedestrian, an 81-year-old man, has passed away in hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The vehicle involved was a white Citroen Berlingo. No arrests have been made.

Detective Constable Aarron Cramer, from GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the man's loved ones at this time after a traumatic week since the incident.

“Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are now in a position to appeal to the local public if they witnessed anything in the lead up to, during or after the incident - especially those driving in the area. Any bit of evidence may help with our investigation.

“We understand this stretch of road has caused concerns and we are continuing to work with the local district and key organisations to ensure road safety remains a priority in helping to reduce fatal and serious collisions.”
