City of Manchester’s Central Neighbourhood Crime Team have arrested seven teenagers this morning, aged between 14 - 17, on suspicion of robbery.
Several simultaneous arrests were made in the early hours of the morning across Longsight, Reddish, Davenport, Openshaw, and Bury.
Detective Inspector Natalie McDonald of GMP’s City of Manchester Central Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: “We had several robberies reported to us, the victims were all subjected to violence in an attempt to steal items with one of the victim having been threatened at knife point and his clothing slashed with a knife luckily he escaped with no injuries"
“I’d like to thank the victims for coming forward and reporting these incidents to the police.
“Information from the public plays an incredibly important role in our investigations and I ask that the community keep talking to us and keep sharing their concerns with us so our teams can act.”
