Update on Bury Market incident

Greater Manchester Police are still responding to an incident on Murray Road, Bury.

Officers remain at the scene to conduct further enquiries into what is believed to be a stabbing.

The extent of the injuries sustained by three victims are thankfully not thought to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made at this time but enquiries remain ongoing.

Detective Chief Inspector John Charlton, of GMP’s Bury division, said: “We believe this incident was a targeted attack and thankfully no one has suffered life-threatening injuries.

“There is not a threat to the wider public and we believe this was an isolated incident.

“You may see heightened patrols in the local area – don’t be alarmed by this. Our officers are there to help, support and reassure the wider community.

“We are appealing to anyone with information about this incident to make a report to police.

“This includes anyone who may have relevant footage including CCTV, mobile, Ring doorbell or dashcam. You can make a report by calling 101, quoting 1338 of 11/03/2024.
