At around 8:31pm on Thursday 23 May 2024, we were called to reports of a serious road traffic collision where a vehicle had collided with a lamppost.
A Ford Fiesta travelling eastbound on Stretford Road, Urmston collided with a lamppost after the driver suffered a suspected medical episode.
The driver, a woman in her 70s, was taken to hospital where she remains in a life-threatening condition.
No other vehicles were involved, and no other injuries were reported.
Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
