Officers investigating a stabbing which took place on Slade Lane in Longsight, Manchester, on Friday 17 May 2024 have made a further arrest this evening (Sunday 19 May 2024).
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody while he is being questioned by our officers.
The victim, who is in his 20s, remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition after receiving a stab wound to his chest.
A man in his 50s who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder has been released on police bail.
Our officers are still appealing to the public and would like to speak to anyone who was in the area that evening, or who perhaps lives on Slade Lane or the surrounding area and has CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage.
Detective Inspector John Robb from our City of Manchester division said: “We have continued with our enquiries over the weekend which has led us to arresting another individual in relation to this incident.
“Additional officers will remain in the area, and I would encourage members of the public to speak to them if you have any concerns or information that could assist us with our investigation."
“I would like to thank he community for their help and patience so far. We aim to always deliver outstanding public service and build public trust and confidence across Greater Manchester, and we hope the work we have done so far underlines those aims.”
