At approximately 8:30pm on Sunday 5 May, we were called by members of the public to reports of concern for welfare for a young girl on Queens Park Road, Heywood.
It’s believed that she was in an altercation with two people in Queens Park. At this stage, we believe that the two individuals left in a gun metal coloured Audi, and the young girl walked off separately with a man.
We are following several lines of enquiry, and we have spoken to witnesses from the park, but we are appealing for further information to ensure that the young girl is safe and well.
Detective Sergeant Tim O'Callaghan from GMP Rochdale said: “Firstly, I would like to thank the members of the public who spoke to the young girl in the first instance, and for reporting their concerns to us.
“We do believe that the girl knew who she left with, but we want to appeal to anyone who may have more information to come forward so that we can ensure she is safe and well.
“If you were in the Queens Park Road area of Heywood on Sunday night, and witnessed the incident or heard anything, please do not hesitate to get in touch, no matter how small the information may seem, it may be vital to our enquiries.”
