At around 9.30pm on Sunday 26 May, we received reports of a firearms discharge at a property on Aspinall Crescent, Salford.
Emergency services attended and a 20-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A Section 60 was implemented in Worsley last night, it has now been extended and will run until 12.45am tomorrow morning (29/5/24). Under Section 60, officers have extra powers to stop and search people in a defined area within the specific times listed.

Since the incident, detectives have worked tirelessly and have now made two arrests. Two men in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of attempt murder and they remain in custody for further questioning.
Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Humphreys of GMP’s Salford district, said: “We are making significant progress with our investigation, and this has led to the arrests of two men who we believe were involved.
“Our enquiries will remain ongoing until we have managed to gain a full understanding of the timeline of events.
“Extra patrol officers both on foot and in cars have been deployed around the local area. If you have any concerns about this incident our officers will be happy to provide reassurance and listen to any of your queries.
“We are acting upon every piece of intelligence received. If there is any information you might have that could assist in this investigation, I would urge you to get in touch.
