Neighbourhood officers from our city centre team are continuing to investigate a series of suspicious incidents that happened in the First Street area at around 3:30pm on Wednesday 27 November 2024.
Following enquiries, it has been established that three women have been separate victims, where a report by a member of staff was made afterwards to alert us to their concerns.
A suspect has been identified in connection with this, but officers are keen to speak to other witnesses and the victims themselves as soon as possible to progress the investigation further.
Inspector Lee Ferguson from out City Centre team said; “Whilst this incident will cause alarm I want to make it clear we have officers on regular patrol whilst we continue to investigate.
“As with incidents like this, when we received the report, we treated it with the seriousness it needed and are now appealing to the public, and those who were in the area earlier this week to please contact us.
“In regard to the three female victims, they may be unaware how important it is that they come forward so we can give them the relevant support they may need and also to ensure we can continue with a prompt and effective investigation.”
