At around 9pm on Tuesday 19 November 2024 an incident was reported to officers after a member of Transport for Greater Manchester staff, a TravelSafe Support and Enforcement Officer, was struck to the head causing injury.
Enquiries are still ongoing with no arrests made at this time.
They are keen to identify and speak with the woman pictured, as it is believed she can assist with the investigation.
Inspector Steve Griffin from our Transport Unit said; “Acts of unprovoked violence will never be tolerated. Staff and the public using the Interchanges across Greater Manchester should feel they are safe places and that is why we are constantly patrolling key areas to offer reassurance but provide support when needed.
“In this case, a member of staff has received wounds that thankfully didn’t result in any serious injury afterwards, but was going about trying to do their job and assist.
“Anyone who was present or has information which could assist are encouraged to contact us at the earliest opportunity on 101 or through our Live Chat function on our website, quoting log 3383 of 19/11/2024. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously using Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
