Around 4.30pm yesterday afternoon (Thursday 24th October 2024), we were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a motorcycle on Ainsworth Road, Radcliffe.
It is believed that the car was being driven in a southernly direction on Ainsworth Road, Radcliffe before beginning to turn into a side road. It was at this point that the collision occurred.
The collision caused the motorcyclist to become unseated from the bike with the motorcyclist and his motorcycle colliding with a third vehicle.
The motorcyclist – a 21-year-old man– sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital for treatment.
The driver of the car - a woman in her 70s – assisted officers at the scene, before attending hospital to be checked over.
No arrests have been made in regard to the collision.
Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage, from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
