At around 9:40am this morning (Saturday 19 October) on Higher Market Street, a male driver had a suspected medical episode whilst driving his car, resulting in a collision with a stationary bus.
The collision resulted in serious injury for the male car driver. A number of minor injuries were sustained by bus passengers, none of which required admission to hospital.
A scene was put in place and the driver was taken to hospital for treatment on his injuries, which are potentially life-threatening.
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for anyone who may have dash cam, mobile phone or CCTV footage to come forward and assist their investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741, quoting log 1009 of 19/10/2024.
