Officers are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured in an attack in Tameside last night (1 November).
At around 8.10pm, we were called to reports of a man having suffered injuries close to the tram stop on Edge Lane in Droylsden.
Initial enquiries have suggested that two cars were seen at speed heading towards Manchester, in what is believed to have been a chase. A car subsequently crashed and a male inside was attacked with weapons.
No arrests have been made at this stage and the man currently remains in hospital.
Officers are now asking for anyone with any information in relation to the incident to please come forward.
This includes any relevant dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage from the Edge Lane area.
Detective Chief Inspector Anna Barker, from GMP's Tameside district, said: “We are currently investigating the full circumstances of last night’s violent incident, and we have multiple officers undertaking all appropriate lines of enquiry.
“While a man suffered serious injuries, we are fortunate that we are not talking about an even more serious outcome, and we are determined to locate those responsible.
“I would urge anyone with any information to please get in touch with us, as your assistance could greatly assist in our ongoing work. If you saw anything or captured footage, no matter how small you may think it is, you can contact us directly or anonymously.”
