Officers responded to reports of a disturbance on Manchester Road in Denton at 10:49pm yesterday (Monday 14 October).
A man was hit by a vehicle and suffered a potentially life-changing leg injury.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward and assist their investigation.
