At 11pm last night (Thursday 12 September) we were called to reports of a disturbance on Argyle Street in Rochdale, where it's believed that a group of men were fighting.
A man was taken to hospital for further treatment. Thankfully, the injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. He remains in police custody.
Officers investigating this incident are appealing for anyone who may have information to come forward.
Whilst we have made one arrest, we are still working to establish the sequence of last night’s events and ask anyone who has information or was in the area last night to please come forward and speak to police.
This includes anyone who may have witnessed the fight, or has any relevant dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage from the area at around that time.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact us via 101 or the Live Chat function at gmp.police.uk quoting log 3806 of 12/9/24.
Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
