At around 9:48pm on Sunday 29 September, a vehicle was travelling along Rochdale Road towards Manchester city centre.
A 45-year-old male pedestrian was led in the carriageway before a vehicle collided with him.
The pedestrian sadly died from his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a 46-year-old woman, failed a roadside drugs test and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. She remains in police custody.
Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward and assist with the investigation.
