Officers from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for more information following a collision that had happened on Eastway Road in Middleton on Sunday 22 September 2024 at 4.20pm.
It is believed that a BMW was driving in an Easterly direction along Eastway heading towards the roundabout, when the driver suffered a suspected medical episode causing them to lose consciousness.
The vehicle has then reportedly collided with a second vehicle, before continuing along Eastway and mounting the pavement further colliding with two more vehicles.
The driver – a 70-year-old man – was taken to the hospital and is currently in critical condition.
GMP are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have any footage of the incident – including CCTV or dashcam - to please contact GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU).
