Officers continuing to appeal for information following disorder after football game earlier this year

Officers are continuing to appeal for information following disorder at a football match in Moston earlier this year.

The disorder occurred at around 5.15pm on Saturday 2 March 2024 at Broadhurst Park when FC United of Manchester played against Workington in a league fixture.

No serious injuries were sustained during the incident which took place in a bar following the game.

Following the initial enquiries, several people were identified and arrested.

Now, officers are seeking to identify four final people in connection with their investigation, as it is believed they could help with the ongoing work.

PC Robert Smith of GMP’s Specialist Operations branch said: “Following our initial appeal, we were able to identify several people and I thank those who got in touch to assist.

“We would like to identify the remaining four people from that appeal and I would ask them to come forward if they recognize themselves, as they may have information crucial to the investigation.

“Likewise, if you can help identify any of the people in the images, please get in touch with us. We are committed to keeping our communities safe and we will continue to do whatever work we can do to ensure that.”
