In the early hours of this morning (Monday 14 April 2025), two men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
This comes after local CCTV operators reported to police that an ongoing knife enabled robbery was taking place in the underpass of Churchgate, in Bolton town centre.
Local patrols from Bolton’s A-Relief response team promptly attended the scene and successfully stopped the two suspects to prevent further offences.
Both suspects have been taken into police custody where they remain for questioning.
Detective Constable Ashcroft, from GMP’s Bolton division, said: “I would like to thank the local CCTV operators at the council office for highlighting the incident.
"Without their monitoring, police would likely not have got to the location in time to prevent any further offences from happening.”
