The family of a woman who was sadly found deceased at an address in Harpurhey on Monday 7 April 2025 have released a heartfelt tribute.
It comes after we were called to an address on Queens Road at 4:07am on Monday 7 April 2025.
Sadly, a 51-year-old woman was found dead on arrival. We can now confirm her identity as Clare Burns.
Following initial enquiries, we arrested a 55-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of murder.
Leonard Lee Stewart (8.4.70) of Queens Road, Manchester, has been charged with murder.
He remains in police custody ahead of his next appearance at Manchester City Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 9 April 2025.
In a loving tribute, Clare’s family said: “Clare was a loving mother, auntie, sister and daughter.
“She was funny, outgoing and a very independent person. She was also kind, generous and friendly to anyone she met.
“Clare would always light up the room she entered, and she was a brilliant friend to many.
“We will miss her dearly.”
