A man appeared at Manchester Magistrates Court today, Friday 8 August 2025 and pleaded guilty to multiple offences following an incident outside a school in Middleton.
Douk Deng (01/01/2005), of Taylor Street, Heywood, was arrested on Wednesday 6 August on suspicion of possession of offensive weapons, after officers responded quickly to a report of a male acting suspiciously, outside a school on Heywood Old Road, Middleton.
Following a search of his property, and further investigative work, he was charged with two counts each of criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and on school premises, and one count each of possession of a bladed article in a public place, and on a school premises.
The man, who identified himself to be South Sudanese, has pleaded guilty to all offences and has been remanded in custody to reappear on Friday 5 September 2025 at Minshull Street Court.
