A 14 year old boy has been convicted of murdering Ibrahima Seck, while two other boys aged 14 and 17 have been convicted of his manslaughter today (22/12/2025) after a month long trail in Manchester Crown Court.
Ibrahima, was also 14 when he was fatally attacked in north Manchester in June on his way to play football.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Platten said: “Today’s conviction cannot ease the family’s heartbreak, but we hope it brings them a measure of justice and acknowledgement of the suffering they have endured.”
His attackers, two of whom are aged 14 and another aged 17, who was 16 at the time, were found guilty of murder and manslaughter, while Keri Dobson (08/05/1988), age 37, of Warbeck Road, Moston and Naomi Heavens (02/08/1986), 39, of Kenyon Lane, Moston have been convicted of assisting an offender.
The five will be sentenced on 27 February 2025 in Manchester Crown Court.

Ibrahima’s father Mamadou Seck said: "Ibrahima was a very nice boy. He was not at all a bad person. Every person in the world would like Ibrahima if they met him. He was smiling all the time, always wanting to help. He is an innocent person. Why Ibrahima?"
At around 5pm on 8 June 2025, Ibrahima and his friends were approached by two 14-year-old boys and a 16-year-old – who is now 17 and a fight broke out.
Ibrahima was chased into the Fairways Inn car park, where one of the 14-year-olds fatally stabbed him. Ibrahima managed to get away and all three offenders fled the scene.
Ibrahima managed to reach a nearby house on Nevin Road to ask for help, where he also named his attacker to those trying to help him.
The residents at the address administered first aid until paramedics arrived, but sadly Ibrahima later died in hospital.
Following the fatal stabbing, all three offenders went to Dobson’s address at Warbeck Road, Moston, and she drove them to Heaven’s house. This journey was picked up on CCTV and Ibrahima’s attacker was identified in the back seat of her car.
Evidence of burnt clothing was later found near Heaven’s address, but police were unable to directly link this to the offenders.
Dobson left Heaven’s house and was pulled over by officers at 6.16pm. As officers approached her car, she was seen deleting messaged for her phone. She was arrested and her phone was seized.
At 7:20pm, two of the boys handed themselves in to Central Park Police Station, while the third boy – one of the 14-year-olds – was arrested the following morning (9 June 2025).
Heavens was arrested on 10 June after the boys’ burnt clothing was found near her home, and her phone was also seized by officer for examination.
Forensic investigators downloaded the content of the seized phones and collated evidence that prove the two women knew about the attack and had attempted to assist the offenders.
DCI Platten said: “Our thoughts remain firmly with the family, who have shown remarkable strength throughout an unimaginably painful time.
“While today’s conviction cannot undo the devastation they have endured, we hope it brings them some measure of clarity and reassurance.
“Knife crime destroys lives and communities, and this case is a stark reminder of its lasting impact. No one should ever have to face such pain.
“We are grateful to everyone who came forward and supported this investigation.
“Thanks to their courage and the work of our officers, we have been able to secure justice.
“Our priority now is continuing to support the family and community as they move forward.”
