A 12-year-old-boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with attempted assault, possession of a bladed article, threatening a person with an offensive weapon, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He has been remanded into custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Youth Court today (Tuesday 11 February 2025).
These charges relate to an incident which took place at a school on Reddish Vale Road in Stockport, shortly after 3pm yesterday (Monday 10 February).
Chief Inspector John Picton from our Stockport Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "Whilst we do believe that this was an isolated incident, additional patrols have been deployed to the area to offer reassurance to the local community. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to them."
