Officers are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision on Wilmslow Road, Heald Green, in Stockport yesterday (Monday 24th February 2025).
It is believed that at around 4.50pm, a BMW 1 series in grey has travelled the wrong direction around the roundabout, where it has collided with a cyclist.
The cyclist – a man in his 60s - was taken to hospital where is he is being treated for serious and potentially life-changing injuries.
A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in custody for questioning.
Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is now appealing for information as their enquiries continue.
This includes any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision and may be able to provide information, as well as relevant dashcam or CCTV from around the time of the incident.
