Officers located a cannabis farm in Little Hulton on Tuesday (25 February), seizing 27 plants and discovering an abstraction of electricity following an early morning visit to the address.
Shortly before 11am, officers visited the address in Harebell Avenue, after receiving a report from an anonymous tip-off that suggested that there was an ongoing grow in the property.
A subsequent search of the property uncovered a number of cannabis plants, a small amount of suspected Class A drugs, growing equipment, and other drugs paraphernalia.
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A substance, cultivation of cannabis, and abstracting electricity. He was bailed pending further enquiries.
The grow occupied a large tent in an upstairs bedroom of the property, and has now been dismantled by officers.
The work comes on the back of Operation Broadway, an ongoing partnership operation in the Little Hulton area.
This has seen local council and housing partners join with our neighbourhood officers, specialist Challenger team, and local engagement teams to provide a comprehensive crackdown on everything from anti-social behaviour to serious and organised crime.
Successful results have already seen dangerous drugs taken out of circulation, firearms recovered, and multiple arrests.
Sergeant Helen Matthews, from Little Hulton’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Our local team operate throughout the entire area of Little Hulton, conducting hotspots patrols, arresting criminals, and engaging with the community wherever we can to prevent criminality.
“In this case, an anonymous tip-off assisted us in locating this cannabis farm, and we were subsequently able to attend, make an arrest, and dismantle it.
“This is another great result for the local operation, and I am sure plenty more will come thanks to the tip-offs from law-abiding citizens, who are fed up of criminals operating in the area.”
