Jack Harrison 21/06/1996 of Gildersdale Drive has been sentenced to six years and two months in prison, plus handed a four year and eight month driving ban at Manchester Crown Court after being found guilty of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and dangerous driving yesterday (Friday 24 January 2025). The judge also factored in the fact Harrison was driving whilst disqualified, without due care and attention, and without a seatbelt within the sentencing.
In the early hours of the Saturday 24 August 2024, officers on patrol in the Blackley area sighted a Black Audi traveling at high speeds on Victoria Avenue, from Cecile Road, Manchester.
Harrison quickly lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a bollard before he made off on foot.
But due to the quick thinking of the officers involved they sighted Harrison leaving the vehicle and chased him. He attempted to evade capture but was no match for our response team.
Police Constable Baylee Ninian of GMP’s City Centre, said: “Harrison’s actions were reckless, he had no consideration for other members of the public when he was driving his vehicle.
“Luckily, no one got hurt and I hope the community feel reassured following this sentence, having one less reckless driver in their local area where people are going about their lives.”
The arresting officer, PC Louis Gevaux, said, “I’m delighted with this result and the brilliant work from the investigation team, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ultimately secure a result of such magnitude.
“Harrison was a menace to society and is now behind bars for a considerable amount of time.
“As response officers, we will always relentlessly pursue criminals, target prolific offenders and do all we can to protect our communities from harm.”
