Officers from our City of Manchester district are appealing for information following an assault in Deansgate on Monday 16 December 2024.
It is believed that the incident occurred at around 2am on the Avenue, where a man was assaulted and received an injury to his head.
No arrests have been made and extensive enquiries have been made.
We are now in a position to release an image of a man we would like to speak to who may have more information about this incident.
Our officers are also appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward or anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the assault.
Detective Constable Fiona Whitelaw from our City of Manchester district said: “Acts of violence such as this one have no place on our streets, and we will be working hard to ensure we find those responsible.
“I would urge anyone who may have been a witness to this incident, alongside anyone with any information to please get in touch. This could include CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from around the time of the incident and captures something that looks suspicious.
“You can contact us on 101 or our Live Chat service at gmp.police.uk, quoting log number 3391 of 16/12/2024.
“Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
