Detectives are appealing for potential victims to come forward in relation to road traffic collisions in Rochdale.
On Saturday 3 May 2025, officers responded to reports of three road traffic collisions involving a car and pedestrians on Bury Road and Whitworth Road, Rochdale.
Sadly, a woman who was injured on Whitworth Road died from her injuries.
Keith Michael Knight (21/01/1976), of no fixed abode, has been charged with murder and five counts of attempted murder.
He remains remanded in custody until November.
The investigation is being led by our Major Incident Team, and CCTV enquiries have identified a possible further victim on Bury Road.
The unknown woman was walking on the pavement on Bury Road between the junctions of Woodlands Avenue and Moorgate Avenue towards Rochdale at 2.24pm.
It is believed a car mounted the kerb and may have driven towards her, and that the woman may not have realised the significance of this incident at the time.
Officers would now like to speak to her - or any other witnesses - as they believe she can assist them with their enquiries.
She has been described as white, with short blonde and brown hair and wearing a light-coloured long-sleeved top, blue jeans and white trainers.
Detective Sergeant Ella Purtill, of our Major Incident Team, said: “Our investigation is progressing, and we have now identified another potential victim who we would like to speak to in connection with these incidents.
“We are appealing for this woman to come forward so we can speak to her and establish the full circumstances.
"If you believe you are the woman or know who it is, information can be shared through our Major Incident Public Portal at https://mipp.police.uk/operation/06GMP25S05-PO1.
“You can call the Major Incident Team directly on 0161 856 4814.
“You can also call 101 or visit our website at www.gmp.police.uk to report information.
“Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
