Officers are appealing for information following a serious collision in Wigan yesterday evening (Wednesday 19 March 2025).
At around 7.05pm, a lorry was driving along Ormskirk Road, while a motorbike with two riders was travelling the opposite way.
As the lorry has gone to turn right into Enfield Street, it has entered the motorbike’s path and a collision has occurred.
Both riders on the bike – two males in their 30s – have suffered serious injuries and remain in hospital for treatment.
No arrests have been made.
Enquiries are currently ongoing and officers from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for information as they continue with their work.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage are asked to get in touch with officers.
This can be done by contacting police via 101 or gmp.police.uk, quoting log 3083 of 19/03/25.
Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
