We’ve charged a man after a woman was injured before later colliding with a bus in Manchester on Tuesday.
Ryan Smith (01/12/1980) of Kerswell Walk, Manchester, has been charged with the following offences:
These charges come following an investigation into the wider circumstances and events which led to Tuesday’s collision on Oldham Road that left a woman hospitalised with serious injuries.
The bus driver remained at the scene and has been assisting us with our enquiries.
Smith will appear at Tameside Magistrates Court today (Thursday 23 October 2025).
During the arrest of Smith at his address on Tuesday afternoon, officers were confronted by two dogs acting aggressively. Due to the threat posed to officers and the public, the animals were humanely destroyed by authorised firearms officers.
