Officers are appealing for information after a man sadly died following a collision in Leigh, Wigan earlier this morning (7 September 2025).
At around 3.05am, emergency services responded to reports of a collision on Wigan Road, close to the junction of Nel Pan Lane.
It is believed that the vehicle, a Nissan, had been travelling eastbound along Wigan Road before colliding with a building.
Members of the public and emergency services came to the aid of the driver, a man, aged 39, but he sadly died from his injuries.
It is not believed that any other vehicles were involved.
Officers from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now investigating and want to establish the circumstances that led up to the fatal incident.
