Man charged with multiple offences following reported rape in Heaton Mersey Park

Following a reported rape in Heaton Mersey Park, Stockport on 9 September 2025, we have secured charges.

Usama Al-Sari, 28, of Moorton Avenue, Manchester, a British national of mixed ethnic background (white and Asian), has been charged with rape, sexual assault, kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, threats to kill, theft and possession of cannabis.

He is remanded in custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court today, 11 September.

The victim continues to be supported by specialist officers, and our increased, high visibility presence in the area for reassurance remains in place.
