Officers have implemented a section 35 dispersal order in Failsworth, Oldham following recent incidents of anti-social behaviour.
This includes incidents yesterday (Friday 10 April) and in recent weeks where groups of young people were reported to be causing criminal damage at a business, as well as causing concern to local communities.
These measures have been introduced from 12:00pm on Saturday 11 April 2026 and will remain in place until 07:00 on Sunday 12 April 2026.
This allows officers to exclude a person or people from the area between the stated times.
The defined area is as in the map above but is detailed as the below:
Partington Street area bordered by – Lord lane between junction with Ashton Road West and Brierly Avenue / Brierly Avenue between its junctions with Lord Lane and Ashton Road East / Ashton Road Eat between its junctions with Brierley Avenue and as it evolves into Ashton Road West up to the junction with Lord Lane.
Inspector Matthew Catlow, from GMP’s Oldham district said: “This order has been implemented to provide further powers for officers in the area to deal with anti-social behaviour, and to protest people and businesses.
“Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and where this is reported to us, we will look to take action – either through proactive action including arrests or preventative problem-solving work alongside our local partners.”
