Serious Collision Investigation Unit appeal for information and witnesses following fatal collision in Bury

Officers from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for information following a fatal traffic collision in Prestwich, Bury.
At around 8pm on Thursday 5 February, officers were called to reports of a collision, where a Volvo S90 struck a pedestrian on Bury New Road.
A woman, aged 79, sadly died from her injuries.
The driver of the Volvo, aged in his 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody.
The SCIU are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are keen to speak to anyone who may have CCTV footage, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the incident.
