Man charged with murder of a 45-year-old woman in Bolton

James Morton (25/10/1992) of Kempston Gardens, Bolton has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Bolton on Monday 19 January 2026.

He has been remanded in custody ahead of a scheduled appearance at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court on Thursday 22 January 2026.

We were called to reports of a concern for welfare at an address on Kempston Gardens in Bolton, when officers arrived they found an unresponsive female.

CPR was commenced but sadly the female was pronounced deceased at the scene.
