The family of a man who was sadly killed in a road traffic collision on Southmoor Road last month have issued a tribute to their “much-loved” son.
It comes after we were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a motorbike at around 10.40pm on Friday 22 May 2026.
Sadly, the rider, aged 24, passed away in hospital on Saturday 23 May 2026 as a result of his injuries.
He has now been named as Dylan Jones by his family.
In a tribute, Dylan’s family said: “Dylan was a much-loved son, brother, father, nephew, cousin and friend. His loss has left a huge void in the hearts of all who knew him. He was especially treasured by his mother, sister, brother and adored by his niece and nephew, who will forever hold precious memories of the time they shared with him.
“Dylan leaves behind his young son. Although his son will grow up without his father by his side, he will always carry Dylan's love, spirit and memory with him.
“He was surrounded by a loyal group of friends who valued his friendship, laughter and kindness.
“Dylan had his whole life ahead of him, with dreams to achieve and many more memories yet to make. His passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how precious life is.
“We are all heartbroken by the loss of Dylan. He was deeply loved by his family, and that love will never fade.
“Dylan also carried the pain of losing his dad at just four years old, a loss that stayed with him throughout his life. It brings comfort to those who loved him to think that he is now reunited with his father, watching over his family from above.
“Though gone far too soon, Dylan's memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered and the love that remains in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
“Forever loved, forever missed and never forgotten.
“Rest in peace, Dylan.”
